AND We are off!!

Got up this morning to the alarm with a smile on my face knowing the only alarm i would need to set in the future would be for fun things.  Went to work with a smile and a peace and joy in my heart knowing this was the right time to retire.  My coworkers threw me an amazing party with a Route 66 and hippie theme complete with the best skit ever. They were dressed as hippies and sung their version of "ON THE ROAD AGAIN" to me as their big sendoff.  It was a great day!!!  Thank you to all!!!  We headed for Chicago so that we can start with Day 1 on Friday.  Half way there I realized that I had left my  Route 66 guidebook at home somehow so we will have to buy a new one ASAP.  We pulled in to eat at the XXX family restaurant and there was a sign on the door for the "route 66 diner" .  Thought that was a funny coincidence!  So tomorrow we start the big adventure and we are both excited to get started.  Good night!
